Our straightforward student storage pricing includes pickup, climate-controlled storage, and delivery of your items. With Colorado Student Storage, you pay based on what you store rather than renting an entire storage unit you may not need.
Storage for less than 4 months will still be priced for 4 months.
College Student Storage for Boxes, Furniture, Vehicles & More
We can store almost anything, it doesn’t have to go in a box. Our college student storage options include boxes, plastic bins, duffel bags, furniture, vehicles, and other belongings students may need to store between semesters, over the summer, or while studying abroad.

These are the CSS boxes we provide students.

The small box is used for heavy items such as textbooks and CDs.

More Pricing
On-Campus-In House Greek Students In-Room pick-up services: $75- The student escorts us to their room when we show up at your residence and we move everything to our moving truck for you.
In-room pack-ups: $175 an hour (3 guys and truck, plus packing materials) minimum 2 hours
Flat-screen TVs HAVE to be boxed! They are just too fragile. If a TV is not packaged, we will either box or encase it in cardboard on-site or at our warehouse. Students will be charged for this service. Repacking your TV costs between $50-$100 depending on size and includes one of our custom TV boxes.
Ship to School Services: You can purchase items from retailers throughout the summer and deliver them to our office. We will then put them in the warehouse with your student’s storage items and give everything on the day your student returns to school. $84, $64, $54, $44 for XL, large, medium, and small items shipped to us that we label, put away in our warehouse, then deliver to you when your student arrives back to school at their new address.
Assembly and Dis-Assembly: $175 an hour, $58 per 20 minutes. We can take apart and put together bed frames. Due to liabilities, we DO NOT mount pictures, TV mounts, or shelves on walls at new residences.
Dressers and Desks full of stuff:– Additional $50 over weight fee or they must be mostly empty and have only light items like bedding and pillows in them. If it’s full we will repack items into boxes, and the customer will be charged a repacking fee and an additional storage fee for the boxes used
Handy Man Services– $150 per hour, minimum 1 hour- Our handyman can take wood bed frames apart and put them back together. They also will assemble Ikea furniture for you that you order online. This is a separate service from pick-ups and delivery crews. Yes, our handyman, if you book them, will help students take apart or put together bed frames, other furniture, and bookshelves. We can also take shelves and TVs off walls, etc…if they request us to.
Moving fee past the ground floor: All storage services include pick-up and delivery to the ground floor of any residence on or off campus. We charge a moving fee of $175 an hour or $58 for every 20 minutes for all pick-ups and deliveries of storage items beyond the ground floor for off campus students.
The minimum storage bill: If your storage bill is under $150 with or without discounts, you will still be charged the minimum rate of $150 for storage per semester.
Add-on Fees
Re-delivery fee: If we cannot deliver your items on the day you request because you are still not in the state, no one will answer the door, or you request a different delivery day when we bring your storage items to you. The re-delivery fee is $250 and is based on availability.
Warehousing Fee: If you come to our warehouse to pick up your items, there is a $50 warehousing fee to meet one of our employees and have them pull your items and set them up in front of the warehouse and help you load them into your vehicle.
Labeling Fee: When we arrive to pick up any storage or shipping items. If they are unlabeled, the customer will be charged a $40 labeling fee in addition to any other services or charges
Special Delivery Fees: We charge special delivery fees when we deliver items on not scheduled delivery dates at your school and during the winter months

Storage Insurance
All items receive up to $100 of coverage on them. Extra insurance is $100 for every $1000 worth of coverage per semester. Customers must let us know on pick up what they want extra insurance on.
Please note: We are extremely fair to our customers, if we break, lose, or damage items while they are in our care, we will do what it takes to ensure they are either repaired, replaced, or the customer is compensated for the damages fairly. This is how CSS has ALWAYS run our business. The students and their parents are our customers and we want to make sure you are taken care of and understand that we are a moving and storage company that actually cares and will not nickel and dime a customer if an issue arises, we do care about our reputation.
Late Payment Policy
- Payment is due on the day of pickup, or at the beginning of a new term if your belongings are staying in storage for multiple terms. There is a 20% penalty added to your total storage order after the first week of missed payment, and an additional 10% penalty for each additional week of missed payment. After 30 days of missed payment, your belongings will be forfeited, and will no longer be eligible for delivery.
- No-shows and day-of cancellations/reschedules will be charged a $75 fee.
Discounts
- CSS offers numerous discounts on our storage services. Customers can receive only one discount per semester. We will always choose the highest discount for you if you receive more than one.
- Any customer who stores items for more than one semester will receive $50 off their storage for each additional semester of storage ( This is your 1 discount)
- We only discount any of our storage services and none of the other services.
- The absolute minimum storage contract is $125 even with discounts applied
College Summer Storage Pricing Estimates
Our college summer storage service is designed to make moving out at the end of the school year easier. These full-service estimates include more than storage alone. We can provide packing supplies, pick up your belongings, securely store them for the summer, and deliver everything when you return.
Estimate: On-Campus / Greek Housing
Typical cost: $450–$550
This includes everything:
- Boxes + packing supplies delivered in advance
- Pickup at your residence
- Safe summer storage
- Delivery to your new address
- Insurance included
Estimate: Off-Campus Apartments
- One-bedroom apartment (with furniture): $950–$1,250
- Bedroom + living room/kitchen items: $1,200–$1,500
Pricing varies by how much you’re storing. These are full-service, door-to-door estimates for the entire summer.
Short Term Storage Pricing
Example Short-Term Storage + Move Estimates
- 1 Bedroom (furniture + packed items):
$1,099 total — Includes box kit, 2 hours for pickup, storage (up to 1 month), 2 hours for delivery, and mattress cover. - 1 Bedroom + Kitchen/Living Room Items:
$1,400–$1,600 — More items and time needed for moving/storing. - Shared Apartments (2–4 students):
$750–$950 per student — When multiple students sign up together and move in/out on the same day, we offer reduced rates. Price depends on how many rooms and shared spaces (living room/kitchen) are included.
Short-Term Storage Pricing
Storage rates depend on how much you store and for how long. Most students are between leases and need storage for a few days, weeks, or months. Below are general estimates:
Moving & Handling Fees
- Moving fee: $175 per hour (3-person crew & truck) – 2-hour minimum
- Basic disassembly/reassembly included for bed frames and large furniture
- Extra fees may apply for excessive labeling/repacking/extra assembly/dis-assembly ($50–$175)
Packing & Labeling Requirements
- Label all items on multiple sides with your name & confirmation number.
- Dressers must be empty—drawers will break if filled.
- DO NOT tape drawers shut (varnish damage) or place stickers directly on furniture.
- TVs must be boxed ($50–$100 for custom packaging if not pre-boxed).
Car Storage Pricing
Car storage by month is only available at CU-Boulder and CU-Denver. Any summer car storage over 2 months will be billed at the whole summer rate.
Special pick up and delivery fee
The cost is between $100 - $250 for a special pick up or delivery of your vehicle at all schools we service except CU Boulder.
We are located in Boulder. If you would like your car picked up or delivered before or after winter break, or not on a designated pick up or delivery date when school lets in and out for summer break there is an extra cost for us to do this.
Do you need a vehicle driven out of state?
Some students and parents want their vehicles driven to their home state outside Colorado. We can do this for you. We will drive your vehicle and deliver it to where ever you live.
The cost on this is between $700-$1,500 for the driver, plus reimbursement for expenses like food, gas and if needed a hotel room. Plus the cost of a one-way airline ticket for the driver back to Colorado. This service is based on availability. Please contact us if interested.
Pack car with boxes?
With our CSS vehicle storage service, if you have other items that you need to be stored that will not fit into your vehicle (like furniture, bikes, skis, snowboards, futons, etc.) You automatically get $100 off your other storage when storing a vehicle with CSS (per semester).
Car Batteries
- If we can get to your battery easily, all car batteries will be disconnected at the time of storage. If your car battery is in the trunk and hard to get to, or in the trunk and the car is full of items, we will not disconnect the battery. Also, some of the newer vehicles have become so technical, we stay away from even attempting to touch the battery (tesla). This is to save the life of the battery. Too many new vehicles have numerous power draws on the battery even when they are being stored. The battery will be connected back up upon delivery.
- If your car has a special code when the battery is turned back on, you need to give it to us at the time of pick up. If your battery is dead when we re-hook it up to your vehicle, we will charge it.
- If it does not hold a charge and is dead, we are not responsible. We can easily order you a new battery and have it installed for you at cost.
- Sometimes car batteries just die. We will replace your battery for you. The cost of this is $50 plus the cost of the new battery. We take the dead battery to the Auto parts store and get you an identical one, install it, bill the credit card on file and then staple the receipt to your contract
Vehicle Insurance and Coverage
Stored vehicles must have insurance. Your insurance is your only recourse for compensation for any and all types of damages, loss, or vandalism. We do not cover any damages that may arise during pick up or delivery from weather events, such as hail or rain.
We do not cover items missing, lost or damaged in the vehicle. The student is responsible for any items they leave in their vehicle. If you want items in the vehicle covered, all items need to be written down on the inventory sheet during pick up.
